PURPOSE: A data transmission apparatus of a network camera and a method thereof are provided to monitor a network failure without an additional protocol, by monitoring the occurrence of a network failure and streaming real-time photographed camera images to a server through a first communication method like RTP, RTSP, and RTCP. CONSTITUTION: A streaming transmission unit(14) monitors the occurrence of a network failure and transmits real-time photographed images to a server through a first communication method. When a network failure occurs, a recorder(18) records the camera image as a data file. When the network failure is recovered, a file transmission unit(20) transmits the recorded data file to the server through a second communication method.
