PURPOSE: An excimer lamp is provided to prevent damage to an electrode by forming a gap between base and an electrode. CONSTITUTION: A discharge tube(2) has a cross section rectangular shape in which a luminescent element is sealed. An electrode(3,4) is installed by being extended in a longitudinal direction in the outer side of the discharge tube. A brazing material(7,8) connects the electrode to a lead. A base(9) covers an end part in the longitudinal direction of the electrode and the brazing material. The edge of the base is connected to a side where an electrode in the outer side of the discharge tube is installed. |
