PURPOSE: An array substrate for an in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to use a mask process 4 times, thereby increasing manufacturing efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A gate pad electrode(116) of a double layer structure is connected to the end of a gate line. A gate insulating layer(118) includes the first gate pad contact hole(121) for exposing the gate pad electrode. The gate insulating layer includes a pixel contact hole for exposing the end of one of pixel electrodes. Both sides of gate sub pad electrodes(148a,148b) have a double layer structure. A protective layer(170) includes the second gate pad contact hole(172) and a data pad contact hole. |
