The centering device (20) has a first brake shoe (16) for pressing a brake disc (18) between the first brake shoe and second brake shoe (14). A housing portion is provided for movably receiving the first and second brake shoes. The first brake shoe and second brake shoe are linked at carrier elements (21,24) by centering springs. The brake shoe and second brake shoe linked at carrier elements are moved relative to brake disc. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) disc brake; and (2) powertrain for combustion engine of motor car.
