PURPOSE: An apparatus for decomposing food waste and a method for generating compost using the same are provided to generate organic compost by decomposing food waste, removing toxicity from the decomposed product, and drying and aging the treated product. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for decomposing food waste includes a stirring tank(2), a rotary shaft, a microorganism inlet(12), a sawdust inlet(13), a compost starting material outlet(14), an outer tank(3), a steam circulating path(4), a reversible motor(6), and a vapor discharging tube(7). A plurality of condensers(8a, 8b) is in connection with an exhausting tube, which is formed on the end of a vapor sucking tube, in order to suck and condense vapor from the stirring tank. The vapor sucking tube is in connection with the outlet of the vapor discharging tube. The entrances of each condenser are in connection with both ends of the exhausting tube. The exits of each condenser are in connection with a leachate discharging line(83). Alternately opening and closing electronic valves(84a, 84b, 85a, 85b) are respectively arranged at the entrances and the exits of the condensers in order to suck and condense vapor from the stirring tank. Condensed water is alternately discharged through the leachate discharging line. |
