<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire protection device for a door, which has high heat sensitivity with a simple construction. <P>SOLUTION: A fire protection device includes a lock 5 having a dead bolt 3, and an actuating device 7 which automatically actuates the lock 5 during fire so as to project the dead bolt 3. The actuating device 7 includes a shaft member 9 connected to the lock 5, a pair of operation members 11 and 11 which rotate the shaft member 9, a coil spring 13 which actuates the operation member 11, a regulation member 15 which regulates the actuation of the operation member 11, and a case 17 which rotatably holds the shaft member 9. The case 17 is fixed to the surface of a door. The regulation member 15 formed of a low melting point alloy melts when the temperature of the regulation member 15 reaches the melting point due to fire. The coil spring 13 then biases the operation member 11 so as to rotate the shaft member 9.
