VOICE COIL MOTOR AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THEREOF

PURPOSE: A voice coil motor and a driving method thereof are provided to precisely determine the current location of a mover by installing a location sensor sensing displacement of a mover with respect to at least one stator. CONSTITUTION: A stator(120) is located on the top of a base(100). The stator includes a first driving unit(125) generating a first magnetic field. A mover(130) includes a lens(132), a bobbin(134) and a second driving unit(136) generating a second magnetic field. An elastic member(140) elastically supports the mover by being connected to the stator and the mover. A location sensor(150) is arranged in one of the first and second driving unit and senses a location of the mover.
