<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle drive controller capable of improving drivability by inhibiting uncomfortable feeling from being given to a driver in backward driving. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic controller 5 controls driving force output from an internal combustion engine acting as a driving source of a vehicle 1, depending on an accelerator operating amount ACCP. In addition, the electronic controller 5 limits the driving force F so that an actual acceleration Ar of the vehicle 1 does not go beyond an acceleration upper limit Ath in backward driving of the vehicle 1.
