<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray detector loading device configured such that a portable type X-ray detector is securely detached from a tray by making sensation when the portable X-ray detector is detached from the tray identical regardless of the direction of this detector. <P>SOLUTION: In the case where a portable type X-ray detector 1 is arranged in a first position in order to carry out vertically long portrait photographing, a first engaging part 43 of a pressing member 41 contacts the edge of a handle part 3 of the portable type X-ray detector 1, thereby pressing this detector 1.
