<p>The invention relates to the field of reprocessing heavy petroleum feedstock. What are proposed are: a method for reprocessing heavy hydrocarbon feedstock and a reactor for the thermal cracking of hydrocarbon feedstock, comprising two consecutively arranged and interconnected reaction chambers, wherein the volume of the first reaction chamber is smaller than the volume of the second reaction chamber, the first reaction chamber has means for feeding in the feedstock and superheated steam, the second reaction chamber has a means for discharging the reaction products, the diameter and volume of the second reaction chamber are capable of reducing the pressure and temperature of the reaction mixture to a temperature and pressure at which the occurrence of thermal cracking reactions is unlikely, wherein use is made of a combined method for supplying the energy required for cracking reactions to occur in the first reaction chamber with the use of superheated steam.</p> |
