<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for effectively performing a rehabilitation by moving a muscle or joint difficult to be voluntarily moved due to paralysis even a little by an individual's will and effort, detecting the site, direction and intensity of a motion caused on this occasion, generating a pulse magnetic field according to the level of a sensor signal to cause large muscle contraction by magnetic stimulation, thereby enhancing the intensity of the motion of the muscle, and creating a neural network using the plasticity of the brain. <P>SOLUTION: A displacement caused in the muscle or joint by voluntary exercise is detected by an optical sensor, or an ultrasonic sensor, or a magnetic sensor, and a sensor output potential corresponding to the site, direction and intensity thereof is used as a trigger signal. A magnetic pulse of the intensity and frequency corresponding to the level of the trigger signal is generated in one or a plurality of magnetic stimulation coils connected to a pulse power source. The motor area of the cerebrum or the muscle is magnetically stimulated by this magnetic pulse, whereby the motion of the paralyzed muscle is enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
