The invention relates to a rigid axle with direct air suspension, e.g. for a commercial vehicle. The rigid axle comprises an axle body (1), trailing arms (3), air springs (5) and vibration dampers (6). The rigid axle is characterised in that the contact point (14) of the vibration damper (6) on the axle side is arranged on the trailing arm (3). The invention permits the arrangement of the vibration damper (6) in a space-saving and weight-saving manner parallel to the direction in which the axle is deflected, without the necessity of arranging elaborately constructed and weight-increasing additional devices in the area of the axle body (1) or the chassis. Vibration dampers (6) that are lighter and/or slimmer than those used in the prior art can be used and undesirable horizontally-acting force components of the damping force are eliminated. |
