A remotely engageable safety-line attachment apparatus (2) for engaging an anchor member comprises a hook device (4) adapted to be connected to a safety-line and an actuation device (6) which is selectively engageable with the hook device (4). The hook device (4) comprises a body (8) defining an anchor member receiving opening (14), a closure means (24), resilient means (26) for biasing the closure means (24) towards a closed position in which it at least substantially closes an entrance (16) to the opening (14) and engagement means (34) configured to be engageable by the actuation device (6) to move the closure means (24)towards an open position in which the anchor member can enter the opening (14).
