The invention relates to a holding device 26 for holding an interior carpet 12 on a structural component 16 of a passenger vehicle, the holding device comprising a first holding element 28 having a first 32 second 34 attachment parts, which first holding element by means of the first attachment part is capable of being attached to the structural component, and comprising a second holding element 30 having a third attachment part 44, which second holding element is capable of being attached to the first holding element by connecting the third attachment part with the second attachment part, and having a fourth attachment part 46 for holding a stowage net 22 (also 14, figure 1), wherein the interior carpet is held on the structural component by means of the interconnected holding elements. The various attachment parts may comprise snap-in connections with elastically deformable lugs 36, 50, 52, 58, and the second holding element may be inserted longitudinally into the first holding element (figure 3) or in a direction perpendicular to the direction for interconnecting the holding elements (figure 4). The holding device is intended to transfer loads on the stowage net to the structural component rather than the interior carpet.
