PURPOSE: A socket assembly for charging a low speed charging type of a vehicle and a power supply method for an electric vehicle are provided to supply power through household power which is arranged in a public place, thereby conveniently managing and processing expenses. CONSTITUTION: An insertion unit(211) is formed on a lower side of a housing and includes a plug of a vehicle. When the plug is inserted into the insertion unit, a reader(213) is installed in the lower side of the housing in order to read a recording medium installed in one side of the plug. The recording medium is a barcode or a QR(Quick Response) code. The recording medium stores personal information. A power supply unit is connected to the insertion unit. A power supply control unit supplies power through the plug by controlling the power supply unit based on the personal information.
