<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch point recognizing method and a touch system, and a display apparatus, which recognize a touch point with an infrared ray (IR) light source provided in the display apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided a touch point recognizing method and a touch system, and a display apparatus. The touch point recognizing method includes the steps of: emitting, by the display apparatus, an infrared ray (IR) signal to pass through a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel, the LCD panel including regions, each region having a different pattern; photographing, by the digital pen using an IR camera, a pattern through which the IR signal passes, for obtaining an IR image corresponding to the touch point; and recognizing the touch point using the obtained IR image.
