<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an vacuum cleaner which can achieve a stable sterilizing effect on miscellaneous germs included in collected dust regardless of a time period for a user to operate the vacuum cleaner or a time period to carry electricity to the vacuum cleaner. <P>SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes: an electric fan (not shown) for generating suction air flow; a dust collecting chamber (not shown) for catching dust; an electric double-layer capacitor 20 for storing electric energy; a charge control means 15 for controlling charge to the electric double-layer capacitor 20; a high-pressure-applying ion generating device 7; and an ion control means 16 for controlling the operation of the ion generating device 7. The ion control means 16 actuates the ion generating device 7 using energy stored in the electric double-layer capacitor 20 when no current is applied to the vacuum cleaner. The ion generating device 7 is actuated to eliminate the dust in the dust chamber even when the cleaner is de-energized, and thereby excellent sterilizing effect is stably exerted regardless of the time period for the user to operate the vacuum cleaner or the time period to make the vacuum cleaner carry electricity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
