This invention obtains a rotating electrical machine for a vehicle, capable of increasing the supporting strength for a protective cover, and reducing unnecessary removal of the protective cover. This rotating electrical machine for a vehicle comprises: a rectifier and a voltage adjuster arranged on the outside of one side in the shaft direction of a casing; and a resin protective cover formed in a closed-bottomed cylindrical shape comprising a bottom section and a cylindrical peripheral wall section, and attached to the casing so as to cover the rectifier and the voltage adjuster. The protective cover joins, by snap fitting, a plurality of protrusions provided protruding from the inner peripheral wall surface of the peripheral wall section, to a plurality of protrusion locking sections formed separated from each other in the circumferential direction in the outer peripheral wall surface of the rectifier circuit board; and is held by the circuit board.
