<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer ceramic electronic component. <P>SOLUTION: A multilayer ceramic electronic component having a 0603 size or less includes: a ceramic body including a plurality of internal electrodes and dielectric layers disposed between the internal electrodes; and external electrodes disposed on an outer surface of the ceramic body and electrically connected to the internal electrodes. When a region in which the internal electrodes are overlapped in cross sections of a central portion in the length direction of the ceramic body, cut in the width and thickness directions thereof, is defined as an active region, the entire area of the cross sections cut in the width and thickness directions is defined as At, and an area of the active region is defined as Aa, an equation of 65%≤Aa/At≤90% is satisfied. When the active region is divided into nine regions by being trisected in each of the width and thickness directions, continuity of the internal electrodes in region in an upper portion in the thickness direction and an intermediate portion in the width direction or continuity of the internal electrodes in region in a lower portion in the thickness direction and an intermediate portion in the width direction is greater than those of the internal electrodes in regions, except for the region in the upper portion in the thickness direction and the intermediate portion in the width direction and the region in the lower portion in the thickness direction and the intermediate portion in the width direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
