Disclosed are a position updating method, device and system, the method comprising: the first network element of a circuit domain switching network transmits a paging command to a terminal located in a packet domain network via the packet domain network, the paging command carrying the information instructing the terminal to initiate a position updating request in the circuit domain switching network after receiving the paging command; the second network element of the circuit domain switching network receives the position updating request initiated by the terminal, and updates the terminal position. The present invention improves the communication reliability between the network element in the circuit domain switching network and the terminal in the packet domain network.
