<p>A flexible printed circuit (FPC) harness connector 209 joins two electrical harnesses, e.g. for a gas turbine engine, each harness being formed from a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) 201 comprising a plurality of conductive tracks 203 which fan out at a planar terminating region 205. One or more receiving holes 207 connected with respective conductive tracks 203 are formed in each terminating region 205 and extend perpendicularly to the plane of the terminating region 205. The connector 209 further comprises a connection formation (e.g. retaining body 215) sandwiched between respective terminating regions 205 of the two harnesses and has one or more pins 217 that enter corresponding receiving holes 207 of the two harnesses thereby electrically interconnecting respective conductive tracks 203. A housing (e.g. formed of two half shells 211), configured to hold respective terminating regions 205 of the two electrical harnesses in face-to-face relationship, has one or more apertures through which the harnesses can exit as they extend away from their terminating regions 205. The housing may be formed of two half shells 211 containing respective elastomeric resilient layers 223 which act as a fixation formation urging the terminating region 205 into engagement with retaining body 213.</p> |
