Improvement of the parent Specification, eliminating the spring side-pressure of the head-block 15 against an edge P of the film. A pair of film guides 60, 61, having a wedging action on the film F, hold the transversely movable head-block 15 aligned with the sound-track P. Where the guides 60, 61 are of the form of Fig. 3, the slots 66, 67, supporting the sound-shaft 38 are differentially slotted as to depth to accommodate film weave. Where the guides have a symmetrical wedging action, the slots 66, 67 are made equal. In an alternative guide formation, abutments 68, 69 are joined by a mutually-acting U-spring 70 to engage the film edges. |
