<p>PURPOSE: A machine tool with a y-axis is provided to obtain high mechanical rigidity by using a large gap and a guide member with a symmetric flow velocity. CONSTITUTION: A machine tool(1) comprises a tool(16), a machine frame(2), and a lower slide(20). The machine tool with a y-axis processes a workpiece(15) which is rotatably driven therein. The slide includes two side surface brackets(29, 29'). The side surface brackets are guided through guide members(21, 21') which are respectively located on two side walls(19,19'). One or more driving devices are functionally connected to the bracket to move by sliding.</p> |
