PURPOSE: A symbol detection method is provided to increase an OOK(On-Off Keying) symbol detection performance or a PPM(Pulse Position Modulation) performance in a receiver including a plurality of reception antennas. CONSTITUTION: A synchronizer(451) executes time synchronization for each of paths by using preambles corresponding to two or more antennas. Header detectors(471,472) detect a header in each of the paths. A survival path selector(480) selects one or more survival path based on the preamble or the header. A combiner(493) combines signals on the one or more survival paths for demodulating payload.
