Sealing station for a packaging machine

The sealing station has a sealing tool (22) for sealing a package (14). A vacuum source is provided for evacuation of the package in the sealing station. A single drive unit (M) is provided for driving the vacuum source and a pressure source. The vacuum source or the pressure source is designed as a rotary vane pump or a screw pump (33).
