PURPOSE: A heterocyclic compound, an organic light emitting device, and a flat display device containing the same are provided to be used as an electron transport material or an electron injection material, and to ensure high electric stability. CONSTITUTION: A heterocyclic compound is denoted by chemical formula 1. In the chemical formula 1, one of X_1 and Y_1 is N, and the other is CR_1 or CR_2. The heterocyclic compound contains a pyridine structure at both ends of a frame. An organic light emitting device containing the compound has high durability when storing and driving the same.
