<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera body and camera system able to achieve appropriate photographing. <P>SOLUTION: If a first focus detection signal determination part 363 determines that the amount of defocus calculated by a focus detection part 362 of a phase difference detection system is within a first threshold in the case where a lens is directly connected to the body side mount part of the camera body, a focus display mark 391 is displayed on a display part 39. If the first focus detection signal determination part 363 determines that the amount of defocus calculated by the focus detection part 362 of the phase difference detection system is within a second threshold in the case where the lens is connected to the body side mount part via an intermediate adaptor 301, a focus display mark 391 is displayed on the display part 39.
