PURPOSE: A cable protecting device for a ship and an installation method thereof are provided to prevent damage to cables by installing a minor cable tray. CONSTITUTION: A cable protecting device(1) for a ship comprises fixing members(10) and a protecting cover(20). The fixing members are inserted into insertion holes which are formed on both sides of a minor cable tray. Both ends of the protecting cover are coupled to the fixing members in order to protect the front side of cables.
