<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-mounted display (HMD) allowing a reduction in the weight of a semitransparent reflective member and prevention of leakage of image light. <P>SOLUTION: The HMD comprises: an image light forming part; an eyepiece optical part; and a casing in which the image light forming part and the eyepiece optical part are housed. A plate-like semitransparent reflective member is attached to the casing. In the state in which the HMD is worn by a user, the semitransparent reflective member is located in front of a user's eye in such a way that it gets nearer to the user as it moves away from the casing. The semitransparent reflective member reflects a portion of the image light condensed by an eyepiece optical system and transmits a portion of external light from outside to guide the reflected light and the transmitted light to the user's eye. A louver-like optical element for restricting the view angle of the user is provided on one surface of the semitransparent reflective member. The louver-like optical element has a plurality of plate-like light blocking parts spaced apart from each other. The light blocking parts extend from the semitransparent reflective member in a direction along the axis of the reflected light rather than a direction along a normal of the surface of the semitransparent reflective member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
