<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method, which prevents a problem of wire contamination in an electrophotographic device aiming a higher speed and higher picture qualities even when the device is used for a long time, and also prevents a problem of image deletion. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming method includes a charging step of charging an electrostatic charge image carrier. In the charging step, charging is carried out by a corona charger having a discharge wire. The electrostatic charge image carrier is a photoreceptor having at least a photoconductive layer and a surface layer formed of hydrogenated amorphous silicon carbide, successively layered. A toner comprises at least toner particles and silica fine particles. The silica fine particles are prepared by subjecting an original of silica fine particles to a first stage surface treatment with silicone oil, then subjected to a second stage surface treatment with a silane compound and/or a silazane compound, and further subjected to a third stage surface treatment with silicone oil.
