<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device which prevents ink fixation in an ink receiving mechanism, while preventing misty ink droplets from being formed even if an inkjet head for horizontally ejecting the ink droplets is employed. <P>SOLUTION: The inkjet recording device includes: an inkjet head 4 for horizontally ejecting ink droplets 2 and printing an image on a recording medium; and an ink receiving mechanism 8 for receiving the ink droplets 2 preliminarily ejected from the inkjet head 4. The ink receiving mechanism 8 includes a hydrophilic nonporous ink receiving plate 22 having a receiving surface 22a which is wider than an ejection range 21 of the preliminarily ejected ink droplets 2, where the ink droplets 2 are deposited and which is provided almost vertically, and a collection tank 24 which is provided below the ink receiving plate 22 and for collecting the ink droplets 2 deposited on the ink receiving plate 22.
