<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress, by utilizing pipe resonance of an open pipe, standing waves generated in a space. <P>SOLUTION: A speaker 9 includes: a cabinet 1; a speaker unit 2 fixed to the outside of the cabinet 1; and an open pipe 10 housed in a space S in the cabinet 1. The open pipe 10 in the space S has a pipe length corresponding to a half wave length of a primary standing wave SW<SB POS="POST">1</SB>generated in the space S. The open pipe 10 has a J-shape.
