<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material for a magnesium secondary battery capable of being used in a magnesium secondary battery which can be charged and discharged, and providing the magnesium secondary battery with excellent characteristics, and a magnesium secondary battery. <P>SOLUTION: The positive electrode active material for a magnesium secondary battery is represented by the composition formula: Mg(M<SB POS="POST">1-0.5x</SB>V<SB POS="POST">x</SB>)SiO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>, or Mg<SB POS="POST">1.03-0.5x</SB>(M<SB POS="POST">0.97-x</SB>V<SB POS="POST">x</SB>)SiO<SB POS="POST">4</SB>, where M includes at least one kind of element selected from Mn, Co, Ni, and Fe, and 0.01≤x≤0.20 is satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
