<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cast coated paper being excellent in white paper gloss and print gloss, preventing gloss unevenness and pinhole and realizing production at a high speed, which is difficult to produce in the prior art. <P>SOLUTION: A cast coated paper is produced by coating a base paper with a coating fluid with a pigment and an adhesive being as main components and then by pressure-contact with a heating drum having a mirror surface while the coated layer is in the wet state, followed by drying for strong gloss finish. The cast coated paper is characterized in that a needle-like light calcium carbonate is contained in the above pigment and that a particle size distribution curve of the light calcium carbonate obtained by a laser diffraction method has a 50 volume % particle size (D<SB POS="POST">50</SB>) of 0.2 to 0.7 μm and a ratio (D<SB POS="POST">90</SB>/D<SB POS="POST">10</SB>) of 90 volume % particle size (D<SB POS="POST">90</SB>) to 10 volume % particle size (D<SB POS="POST">10</SB>) of 8 or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
