<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-grip and sanitary supporting portion-integrated embedded handrail. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this metal handrail, a handrail portion 2 and a wall surface supporting portion 1 continue laterally long with a fixed thickness in the same cross-sectional shape. A vertical back portion 3, which has upper and lower ends provided with upper and lower flanges 15 and 16, respectively, top and under surfaces 4 and 5 protruding forward from upper end lower ends of the back portion 3, a fingertip guide curved surface 6, which covers a front surface of the back portion 3 from a leading end of the top surface portion 4 and which is depressed to avoid a handrail portion 2 in such a manner as to avoid a handrail portion 2 at a fixed distance, and a bracket portion 7, which is protruded upward and obliquely forward from each of a lower portion of the fingertip guide curved surface 6 and a leading end of the under surface portion 5, are formed in the wall surface supporting portion 1. A palm press-contact handrail surface 9, which is formed in a position to partially protrude from leading ends of the top and under surfaces 4 and 5 at an approximately intermediate height between the top and under surfaces 4 and 5 of the wall surface supporting portion 1, is continuously formed via finger hook depressed surfaces 8 and 10, which are connected in a constricted state to a leading end of the bracket portion 7 of the wall surface supporting portion 1, in the handrail portion 2.
