<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus, an image forming apparatus and a program which can obtain a certain image signal so that an amount of an electric charge to be accumulated does not reach a saturation amount, even when a reading period of time is long. <P>SOLUTION: In an image reading apparatus, a general control section 122 directs a light source control section 128 to provide a lights-out period of an LED 81 which is a light source in a horizontal transfer period of a CCD image sensor 88, in the case of such a reading format that a reading speed becomes slow, a reading period of time becomes long, and an electric charge to be accumulated in the CCD image sensor 88 reaches a saturation amount according to a reading format of a document. The light source control section 128 controls lighting of the LED 81 on the basis of the instruction. When the lights-out period is provided, an amplification ratio changing section 124 determines an amplification ratio of an amplification circuit 104 so that an image signal which has been amplified by the amplification circuit 104 becomes an image signal having a predetermined size according to the lights-out period, and changes the amplification ratio of the amplification circuit 104 so that the amplification ratio becomes a determined amplification ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
