A multi-core amplified optical fiber comprises a plurality of core parts to which a rare earth element is added, and a cladding part which is located on the outer circumference of each of the core parts and is provided with a lower refraction index than the refraction index of each of the core parts. When the concentration of the rare earth element which is added to each of the core parts is 250ppm-2000ppm, the specific refractivity Delta of each of the core parts to the cladding part is 0.5%-2% in a 1550nm wavelength, and the core diameter of each of the core parts is 1µm-5µm, the isolation distance from each of the core parts to the adjacent core parts is set to 30µm-60µm such that optical crosstalk between the core parts is -30db or less. Thus, a multi-core amplified optical fiber and a multi-core optical fiber amplifier are provided with which it is possible to carry out an optical amplification while alleviating degradation of signal optical quality.
