A kind of functional shorts (1) comprises a thigh section (2), a waist-shaping section (3), an abdomen-shaping section (4), and an adjusting band (7). The majority of the waist-shaping section (3) may be above an umbilicus. The waist-shaping section (3) may exert more force than the adjusting band (7). The waist-shaping section (3), the abdomen-shaping section (4), and the adjusting band (7) assist in correcting one's center of gravity and realigning one's vertical access. A method of adjusting one's center of gravity is also provided.
