<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element manufactured using a π electron conjugate compound precursor converted into a dithienobenzodithiophene derivative and capable of being manufactured by a simple manufacturing process such as printing and coating. <P>SOLUTION: A dithienobenzodithiophene derivative obtained by imparting an external stimulus to a π electron conjugate compound precursor and represented by general formula (II) is used for a photoelectric conversion element.
