An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to change an angle of a compensation film shaft, thereby reducing the phase delay portion generated at a black mode. A lower substrate(111) includes TFTs(Thin Film Transistors). A color filter layer is equipped to an upper substrate(131). A liquid crystal layer(141) is injected between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. A polarizing plate is equipped to the outside of the upper and lower substrates. A compensation film is formed between the polarizing plate and the upper and lower substrates and is located away from the shaft of the polarizing plate with a constant angle such as 0.5 to 1.5 degree. The shaft of the compensation film coincides with the shaft of the liquid crystal and the shaft of the polarizing plate coincides with a rubbing shaft. |
