<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial rust stone capable of accurately reproducing texture and feeling of a natural rust stone, which has been produced through simple procedures. <P>SOLUTION: In a production method of the artificial rust stone, paste-like molding compositions 23 and 33 are prepared by mixing granular stones with a liquid synthetic resin in a prescribed ratio, introduced into or applied onto molds 2 and 3 having impressions of the surface of a model rust stone, solidified and demolded to obtain a molded product 10, and a rust-like color is applied onto the surface of the molded product 10. Before introducing or applying the molding compositions 23 and 33 into or onto the molds 2 and 3, a metal powder that produces rust by oxidation or hydroxylation is sprayed onto inner surfaces of the molds 2 and 3 so that grains of the metal powder will be fixed by being at least partially embedded in the surface of the molded product 10 achieving a rock-like surface through molding.
