<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which long term reliability is secured by protecting an optical element against external moisture and force. <P>SOLUTION: The optical module includes a body 10 and a sealing section. The body 10 includes optical elements 4A and 4B, a signal processing unit 5, and a first wire 13a and a second wire 13b.
