A method for enlarging a dynamic range in a digital image processing apparatus is provided to enlarge the dynamic range stably and conveniently by performing a mode for enlargement of the dynamic range on an input image only when the mode is selected. For enlarging a dynamic range of a photographed image, first, a brightness of the photographed image is detected to determine whether enlargement of the dynamic range is necessary. It is questioned whether a mode for the enlargement of the dynamic range is selected according to the determined result(313). If the mode is selected, the enlargement of the dynamic range is performed on the photographed image(317). |
