<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drinking water production device and method which enable drinking water to be stably produced with high yield while achieving service life prolongation of a reverse osmosis membrane. <P>SOLUTION: The device has a pump for applying pressure to tap water, the reverse osmosis membrane which separates the tap water to which pressure is applied into waste water containing impurities and osmosis water, and a tank for storing the osmosis water. The waste water is discharged through a first flow channel and a second flow channel arranged in parallel. The device further has a flow regulation unit, and the flow regulation unit has a flow regulation valve which is provided at the first flow channel and which controls a flow rate of the waste water flowing through the flow channel, a flow channel opening valve which is provided at the second flow channel and which opens and closes the flow channel, and a control device which controls opening and closing of the flow channel opening valve. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
