NEEDLE PLATE ATTACHMENT AND DETACHMENT MECHANISM AND SEWING MACHINE HAVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a needle plate attachment and detachment mechanism with an opening mechanism capable of easily detaching a needle plate without the need of a special tool such as a driver and easily positioning the needle plate in a simple way in the attachment step and to provide a sewing machine with such mechanism.

SOLUTION: A needle plate attachment and detachment mechanism comprises: guiding means made at both a needle plate and a bed part for guiding a needle plate to a fixing position of a bed part by engaging with each other; fixing means with an engaging part made at a needle plate and an engaged part made at the bed part for maintaining the fixing state with the engaging part and the engaged part being engaged with each other by pushing and moving the needle plate to the fixing position of the bed part; opening means made at the bed part, the opening means having an operation part for pushing the needle plate from its bottom to release the engagement of the engaging part and the engaged part and moving the needle plate upward to an opening position.
