<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip varistor which maintains good ESD resistance without including an internal electrode. <P>SOLUTION: A chip varistor 1 includes: a first varistor part 7; and multiple terminal electrodes 5. The first varistor part 7 is formed by a sintered body composed mainly of ZnO, has voltage nonlinear characteristics, and has a pair of main surfaces 7a, 7b which faces each other. The multiple terminal electrodes 5 are connected with the first varistor part 7.
