A vane assembly has an outer support ring (96), an inner support ring (92), an outer liner ring (98), an inner liner ring (94), and a circumferential array of vanes (70). Each vane (70) has a shell (180) extending from an inboard end (182) to an outboard end (184) and at least partially through an associated aperture (198) in the inner liner ring (94) and an associated aperture (199) in the outer liner ring (98). There is at least one of: an outer compliant member (212) compliantly radially positioning the vane (70); and an inner compliant member (210) compliantly radially positioning the vane (70).
