<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical device which suppresses deterioration in characteristics of an electrochemical cell caused by decomposition of an electrolyte solvent and corrosion of a collector due to hydrogen fluoride generated by decomposition of an electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is an electrochemical device using an electrolytic solution containing an electrolyte and a nonaqueous solvent. An anion component of the electrolyte is a boron-containing anion represented by the general formula (1): B<SP POS="POST">-</SP>(CN)<SB POS="POST">n</SB>R<SB POS="POST">4-n</SB>(In the formula, each of R independently represents a perfluoroalkyl group with the carbon number of 1 to 4, and n represents an integer of 1 to 3.
