<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To abbreviate output time for a first transfer material and reduce an impact sound at a time of contact operation of a first transfer roller. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a first separation mode in which a photoreceptor drum 1, an intermediate transfer belt 11 and a primary transfer roller 12 are separated from each other, and a second separation mode in which a separation distance between the photoreceptor drum 1 and the primary transfer roller 12 is smaller than that in the first separation mode. When the intermediate transfer belt 11 is driven in a state where the photoreceptor drum 1, the intermediate transfer belt 11 and the primary transfer roller 12 are separated from each other, the first separation mode is set, and the second separation mode is set for a standby time before transition to an image forming operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
