The package (2) has a closed chamber receiving a neutron protecting unit (18) that is partially made of thermosetting material. The neutron protecting unit includes a set of identical solid particles that are partially formed by thermosetting material, where the particles are provided with large dimension ranging between 3 mm and 5 cm in particularly 5mm and 2 cm. The particles include an external surface in spheroid shape, and the closed chamber has a set of boundary surfaces toward an interior part and an outer part of the closed chamber. An independent claim is also included for a method for replacing a neutron protecting unit located in a closed chamber of a package.
